Terms of use

Plain-English terms for using Standby Board and the data it shows. Written for park visitors and theme-park enthusiasts, which is who this site is for.
Effective September 5, 2026

1. Who we are and what this is

Standby Board is a free, independent information site built and maintained by a theme-park enthusiast. It shows live and historical wait times, operating hours, event schedules and crowd signals for the theme parks and water parks of the Orlando, Florida area, so that visitors can plan a better day and enthusiasts can follow the parks.

Standby Board is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company, Universal Destinations & Experiences, United Parks & Resorts (SeaWorld) or any park, resort or operator. Park, attraction, event and company names and marks belong to their owners and appear here only to identify what the data describes. Nothing on this site is an official statement from any park.

2. Your agreement

By using this site, its pages, feeds, badges or data endpoints (together, the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms as the site evolves; the effective date at the top changes when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be noted on this page.

3. Where the data comes from

Wait times shown here are the estimates that the parks themselves post, gathered from:

On top of those feeds we compute our own signals: the Wait Score, typical waits by hour, "best time to ride", crowd trends and similar. These are statistical estimates derived from the history we record. They are ours, they are opinions expressed as numbers, and they can be wrong.

4. Accuracy and what the data is not for

The Service and everything in it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness or availability. Posted wait times are estimates made by the parks and can be stale, missing or simply wrong. Feeds go down, parks change hours without notice, and a "closed" here may be open there. Always check the park's official app or signage before making a decision that matters to you, and treat what you see here as planning help, nothing more.

Do not rely on this data for safety, medical, accessibility, operational or financial decisions. We are not responsible for time lost in a line, a missed show, a wasted ticket or a purchase made on the strength of a number shown here.

5. Using the site

You are welcome to use Standby Board for personal, non-commercial planning and enjoyment: browse it, refresh it during your park day, share screenshots, and link to any page from anywhere. The live badges and feeds described on the embed page may be placed on personal, non-commercial sites, blogs, forums and community servers as long as they keep linking back here and the source credits remain visible.

Any commercial use of the data, the JSON endpoints or the badges, and any use that goes beyond viewing (automated collection, integration into another product or service), needs our written permission first. Part of the data reaches us under source terms that forbid onward redistribution, so this is not a formality we can waive.

6. What is not allowed

We may block, throttle or ban any client or network that breaks these rules, without notice.

7. Your contributions

From time to time the site asks for community input, such as votes on how attractions should be classified. Anything you submit must be your own and must not be abusive, misleading or unlawful. By submitting, you give us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free permission to use, aggregate, publish and adapt it as part of the Service. If you choose to enter a display name it may be shown publicly next to your contribution; leave it blank to stay anonymous. We may edit or remove contributions at our discretion.

8. Privacy

There are no ads and no third-party trackers on Standby Board. We run our own private, first-party analytics so we can see which pages are useful and keep the site healthy. For that we record, per page view: a first-party cookie identifier, your IP address, the country and network edge reported by our CDN, the page and referrer, your browser's language, screen size and connection type, and response timing. This is used only for aggregate statistics, capacity planning and abuse prevention. It is never sold, shared for advertising or combined with outside data.

Your browser also stores a few preferences locally, such as a chosen resort filter. Those never leave your device. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes traffic under its own privacy terms. If you would like to know what we hold about your visits, or have it deleted, contact us (section 13).

9. Ownership

The design, code, text, layout and derived metrics of Standby Board, and the compilation of data as presented here, belong to us. The underlying facts, such as a ride's posted wait or a park's hours, belong to the parks and operators that publish them, and the credits required by our data sources carry through to anything you do with what you see here. You may quote short excerpts with a link back. These terms give you a limited, revocable permission to use the Service as described; they do not transfer ownership of anything.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Standby Board and the person who runs it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of time, enjoyment, data or money, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, however caused. The Service is free; our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use it, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer you keep every statutory right the law gives you.

12. Governing law and the legal bits

Standby Board is operated from Apopka, Orange County, Florida, USA. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute belongs to the state or federal courts located in Orange County, Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a term straight away does not waive it. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
